WHOSFAN CELEBRATES ITS FIRST ANNIVERSARY WITH STRAY KIDS.

The Whosfan application (digital voting platform for the Mnet charts) decided to celebrate its first anniversary by giving away three ads in NY Times Square of the most voted artists, with first place getting 10 seconds of projection, 7 seconds for second place and 5 seconds for third place.

On May 21, 2021, Whosfan through its official Twitter account @Whosfan_HANTEO asked K-pop fans to nominate their favorite group or artist on the said social network using the hashtag #Whosfan_1st_Anniversary #후즈팬_1주년_축하해 #Whosfan_with [+name of artist] and mentioning the group's official Twitter account, giving a deadline of May 22 at 00:00 hrs. until May 23 at 23:59 hrs. (KST).

On May 24, the 17 nominated artists were announced, opening the voting on May 25 at 18:30 hrs. (KST), which was held on the Whosfan app, where Stray Kids faced off against artists like Super Junior, Twice, TXT, Enhypen, Dreamcatcher, Treasure, Seventeen, NCT127, Ateez, SF9, Day6, Mamamoo, P1Harmony, Monsta X, Astro and CIX.

On May 29 Whosfan tweeted the real-time ranking, showing the first place with 38.51%, the second place with 19.14%, the third place with 17.62% and the fourth place with 13.29%, with Stray Kids, Twice, Ateez and Treasure occupying the positions in that order respectively, with Stray Kids leading the voting table

Having a two-week voting period, after a strong contest, the voting concluded on June 7 of this year at 11:00 hrs. (KST), and announced on June 8 via Whosfan's official Twitter account Stray Kids as the winner of the voting, getting as a prize a 10 sec. commercial, presented from June 21 to 27 (EST), in NY Times Square.

Not only that, Whosfan invited Stray Kids fans to participate, between June 8 and 11, by designing a proposal for the video ad that would be aired, allowing fans to be part of this celebration. The video chosen for Stary Kids belongs to Linda G., a Mexican STAY with Twitter user @lcgp_sweetheart. Who agreed to answer a few questions for us.

E: I want to start by thanking you for agreeing to this interview, and for the video, which turned out amazing, your editing work is very good. Since when have you been editing?
Linda G: Thank you so much for taking the time to do it, the truth is that this is something very new for me and I'm a little nervous.

About that, let's say I started editing when I was about 11 years old, I spent hours editing and watching tutorials on YouTube and then I got fond of it and turned it into one of my favorite hobbies since I'm not dedicated to that, I'm a student of Administration.

As far as editing ads and stuff like that I think I have about a year and a half where I've been focusing on trying to improve and learn new things.

E: Is there a reason or meaning behind the choices of personal photos and the MV you used?
Linda G: The individual photos are from the photoshoot of the IN LIFE album and I decided to use them because I think they show the true essence of Stray Kids and my main idea was always to use part of the Back Door MV, because I think everyone should see it and the photos were perfect, so that's why I chose them.

E: Once you had the concept and an image of what you wanted, were the requirements for the design of the edition, such as the timing and shape of the screen, an obstacle? What was the creative process like for you?

Linda G: About that, GOD, it was horrible because the specs are really a lot, plus I had never in my life edited something as big as that commercial. I was really worried about losing the quality of the videos and that's why I decided to split it that way trying to keep as much as possible the quality they had, plus as I mentioned there are so many specifications, so it was very laborious to try to keep everything in its place like the curve of the screen and that it didn't interfere with the design as well as the time, for me 10 seconds is too little for all that Stray Kids can show, but I tried that at least people could see that Stray Kids is made up of 8 incredible members and the power that they transmit with their music videos.
It was hard work and I didn't sleep hardly at all for several nights, but it was all worth it, what I really want is for people to be interested in them and for them to receive the recognition they deserve. ♡

E: Tell us, what was your reaction to seeing your video in NY Times Square?
Linda G: I'm not lying, I was shocked because I really didn't expect to be chosen, I assumed that they would have sent more designs and that there were so much better than mine, so it really took me by surprise to see that it was my design that was on that huge screen in the middle of Times Square. The dream of Stray Kids was being fulfilled, but at the same time one of mine too because I never thought I would get so far, I have made other ads which have been placed in Korea, however, the fact that this one was in NY, where so many people would see it, caused me a huge emotion (which I still have) and more because a part of me thought that the kids would see it and would be proud to be there.
I cried a lot that day because of all the nice comments that were left and let's just say that I am very happy and thankful for all of this.

E: Of course, it was their dream and you were an important part to fulfill it, not only they are proud, STAY is proud too, and I imagine you even more, if you could say some words to SKZ to share the moment, what would they be?
Linda G: Among the many things I would love to tell you, one would be that I am very proud of who you are, how much you have achieved and that I am sure you will continue to achieve much more. They are wonderful guys with too much talent and who always care about giving their best and being for STAY, and for these and more reasons I love them too much
In addition to this, I would like to thank them because they were my support and helped me to move forward and not give up in difficult times, as well as to tell them that supporting them is and will always be one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life.

E: I read many Twitter users declaring themselves your fans, and one specifically asking for the name of your fandom. How does it make you feel to receive so much support and love from the fandom? Have you already thought of a name for your personal fandom?
Linda G: The truth is that I have no words to describe how happy it makes me feel to receive such nice comments and messages from people who don't know me, saying that they love what I do or that they are proud of me, mostly because I tend to be a bit hard on myself and a bit insecure, so knowing that there are people who really like what I do makes me feel so good.
I swear I wanted to respond individually to each of the comments that came in, but there have been too many that I just can't, still, I use this to tell you that I am too grateful for the support you have given me and that you have made me too happy.
Hahaha about my own fandom, it gave me a good laugh to see that kind of comments, I don't have any yet, but we could think of a good name, couldn't we? (Smiling face with open mouth and cold sweat)

E: Editionstay? Lindaists? You should let your own fans decide, and I, MiNyu, as your fan, propose those. (Face with hand over mouth). Lastly, is there any other editing work you would like to share with us?
Linda G: Ok, ok I like those names, hahaha we'll think about it. <3
